Recipe: Pennsylvania Style Porkchops

This recipe is for all of you pork lovers out there who are looking for a new way to enjoy your favorite chops. These chops are slow cooked with tart apples, onion and sauerkraut to create a tantalizing mash of sweet and sour that pair perfectly with your meaty chops. This recipe also adds a healthy dose of vitamins, minerals and fibre to your pork.

If you know me at all, and how I like to cook, you will know that I live and die by my slowcooker and the majority of my favorite recipes reflect that fact. Eating great can definitely be simple and easy. So lets get to it. 😉

– 6 medium sized porkchops

– 4 tart green apples, chopped.

– 1 medium onion, diced.

– 1 jar of sauerkraut

To make this dish, start by chopping up your apples and layering them in the bottom of the slowcooker. Once youve finished that, add your diced onion, and just enough water to cover the visible surface of your crockpot.

After that, layer your chops on top and then cover them up in the sauerkraut of your choosing. Slowcook on high for 4 hours until the apples are soft and the meat is super tender.

This dish pairs nicely with mashed potatoes and the veggies of your choosing.
